Fun & Fitness For The Whole Family!

Martial arts is a great way to increase your strength, energy level, stamina and flexibility. Our 45 minute Adult Tae Kwon Do classes are held three nights a week with special sessions during the day for students achieving Black Belt Status.

Most aerobic and workout routines focus on one specific health benefit: weight loss, flexibility or strength training for example. Tae Kwon Do takes your workout to another level incorporating all of these aspects of fitness into a lifestyle that promotes focus, self confidence and wellness. All while teaching self defense techniques that will increase your confidence in any situation.

Like most martial arts, Tae Kwon Do uses a belt system to group students by their level of learning. Each belt brings with it new tests of your strength as you push yourself to perfect increasingly complex techniques, and new levels of accomplishment as you see your abilities and fitness level increase.

Your First Class

New to Tae Kwon Do? Here's what to expect.

• You  will receive your uniform and belt before your first class session. Changing rooms are provided. T-Shirts and safety equipment are also available for purchase at any time.

• Classes begin with a brief warm up routine consisting of stretches and light aerobics, designed to get your body and mind ready to focus on learning the techniques you will be practicing throughout the rest of the class.

• For your first few sessions a high-ranking black belt instructor will be assigned to you, and will teach you the basic techniques that are the building blocks for the rest of your training.

• After warming up, students will work on punching and kicking techniques, learn defensive combinations through "One Step"  routines and begin to put it all together by learning "Forms".

• New students will begin to work on Basic Combinations and blocking, while advanced students (Yellow Belt and above) will spar against each other, rotating through the class to get a feel for how students at different levels of training put their techniques to use.

• As part of your training, you will also receive a DVD showing some of the techniques that you will be learning so you can practice at home.
